SHAPING THE FUTURE TOGETHER THROUGH THE NEXT GENERATION FORUM

* Scholarship Program

* assistance for students/their families can avail from the LGU

* Flood mitigation plans and projects of Dagupan LGU

* Traffic concerns (route for easier access of transportations for students, pedestrian safety

* mental health and teen’s overall psychological well-being

Mayroon na tayong bagong science laboratories, upgraded libraries with new books, tables and chairs, air-conditioned classrooms, at smart TVs.

Your voices matter, your dreams matter, and your future is our mission.

EXECUTIVE BRIEFING ON THE STATE OF LOCAL GOVERNANCE AND NEO PLUS (NEWLY ELECTED OFFICIALS PERFORMING LEADERSHIP FOR UPLIFTING SERVICE PROGRAM)

We thank the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) for the conduct of today’s Executive Briefing on the State of Local Governance and NEO PLUS (Newly Elected Officials Performing Leadership for Uplifting Service Program) designed to prepare and develop the capacities of our newly-elected local officials.

This gathering is more than just an orientation—it is a significant step towards strengthening our collective capacity as public servants to deliver on the mandate entrusted to us by our people.

The NEO Plus +++ Program serves as a guiding light in ensuring that the principles of transparency, accountability, and efficiency in governance are always upheld.

In addition, the three plus signs indicate that the thrust of the program covers the (1) Local Chief Executives, (2) the members of the Sanggunian, and the (3) officers of the local civil service in working as a Team in a whole-of-local government approach.

As leaders chosen by our constituents, we carry the immense responsibility of transforming their hopes and aspirations into concrete programs, projects, and services.

The DILG, through this program, equips us with the necessary knowledge and skills to navigate the challenges of local governance, to be more responsive, and to foster an environment where participatory and inclusive leadership thrives.

Here in Dagupan City we have seen how good governance opens doors to progress, improves the quality of life of our citizens, and strengthens trust in government institutions.

Good governance is not just about solving problems; it is about building trust, empowering communities, and creating opportunities — ensuring that no Dagupeño is left behind.

I therefore urge everyone to embrace the learnings we gain from this program and to translate them into action in our respective local government units.

Together, let us continue to work hand in hand with the DILG and with each other to achieve excellence in governance and create communities that are resilient, progressive, and people-centered.

May God bless Dagupan City and all of us.

VETERANS BANK DONATES ‘HISTORY WALL’ TO HONOR LEGACY OF WORLD WAR II

The Dagupan City Government has received a valuable addition to its heritage collection with the turnover of the History Wall and MacArthur memorabilia from Philippine Veterans Bank (PVB) this morning, Tuesday, August 12, at its former branch in the CAP Building along Burgos Street.

The History Wall, a curated exhibit chronicling the story of Dagupan and Pangasinan during World War II, was formally received by Acting Mayor Bryan Kua from PVB Dagupan Branch Manager Cherry Soriano, joined by City Mayor’s Consultant Rex Catubig, Tourism Officer-in-Charge Sharon Maramba, and Jayceeken representative Alex Villaflor.

This donation, Kua said, reflects a meaningful partnership between PVB, the City Government led by Mayor Belen Fernandez, and Jayceeken, serving as a bridge to history and a lasting reminder of the heroism of Filipinos and the friendship forged with the American troops led by Gen. Douglas MacArthur during World War II.

“It would be our privilege to contribute to preserving this significant chapter of our nation’s history in a space dedicated to learning and heritage,” said Mike Villa-Real, PVB’s First Vice President for Marketing Communications & Customer Protection Group, in a letter dated August 5.

The memorabilia and History Wall were immediately transferred to the West Central Elementary School MacArthur Building, in coordination with West 1 Principal Renato Santillan, where they will be preserved and displayed as an educational and historical resource for the community, students, researchers, and future generations.
