DAGUPAN CITY – The Social Security System (SSS) is now working to fast track its services with the opening of a new processing center extension office in Dagupan City on October 29.

The new center, located in Barangay Mayombo, will serve as an extension office of the region’s processing center already established in Tarlac City.

Transactions made in Pangasinan service offices located in Dagupan City, Calasiao, Lingayen and Tayug as well as branch offices in Dagupan, Urdaneta City, Alaminos City and San Carlos City are now expected to be processed more efficiently with the new center, said SSS President and Chief Executive Officer Atty. Emmanuel Dooc.

He added that the agency recognized the region’s need for a second processing center with the large amount of contributions coming from the region. Pangasinan alone is already generating at least one billion peso contributions  a year.

“In 2017, the number of transactions in the region reached more than 100,000, averaging more than 10,000 transactions a month. The number would only grow as the steady progress of the region provides numerous jobs and opportunities for the people. If we want to be able to serve our people without delay, we really needed another processing center, ” SSS President Doc added.

This was the only the first time that SSS has established a second processing center for a region, which was realized through the initiative of SSS Commissioner Dr. Gonzalo Duque, former vice governor of Pangasinan.

Corollary to this, SSS President Atty. Dooc also thanked Mayor Belen T. Fernandez, Liga ng mga Barangay President Dean Bryan Kua and SSS officials and members for attending the blessing and inauguration ceremonies held at their new office on October 29, saying “their presence signifies their support for SSS.” (Verdelle De Vera/CIO)
