DAGUPAN CITY – Mayor Belen T. Fernandez swore eight officers of the Balon Tondaligan Credit Cooperative (BATCCOOP) , comprising the first batch of officers of the co-op.
BATCCOOP was officially registered in September last year.
Board of directors Chairman Marlo Canoza, Vice Chairman Rolando Reyes, and members Tirso Paras, Catherine Rallos, and Ricky Reyes now lead the organization that engages in giving credit at nominal interest to its more than 60 members to fund their respective livelihood projects.
The General Manager of the coop is Rebecca Marcaida with Jennifer Mabanta as treasurer; and Marietta Paras, secretary.
“Bawat isa na miyembro ay may capital shares para sa ganoon ay magagamit namin ito para sa negosyo namin na maliliit. Dalawang libo every year [ang capital shares ng bawat miyembro],” Canoza said. “Malaki na rin ang aming capital.”
Canoza said he intends to regularly hold general assemblies and meetings to ensure transparency within BATCCOOP, but added that the success of the cooperative is the cooperation of all the members.
“Sana maki-cooperate sila (members). Kung ano ang policy ay sundin nila tapos magtulugan tayo dahil tayo naman ang makikinabang diyan. May mga anak tayo, sila ang isipin natin. Ang kooperatiba ay makakabuti sa atin,” he added. (Zarena Amado/CIO)
