Kenneth Ryan P. Soriano of Barangay Poblacion Oeste continues to bring honor to his hometown as a taekwondo athlete, coach, and 4th Dan Kukkiwon black belt.
At the 2026 AAU National Taekwondo Championships held from June 28 to July 4, Soriano earned a silver medal in Team Poomsae. He also captured gold medals in Sports Poomsae and Traditional Poomsae at the AAU Taekwondo Central Region National Qualifier on April 18.
Earlier, he won two bronze medals in Sports Poomsae and Traditional Poomsae at the Michigan Taekwondo Championship on March 14.
Soriano studied at West Central Elementary School I and Dagupan City National High School before earning his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Luzon in 2006.
Before moving to the United States, he served as a coach and instructor at the University of Luzon, YMCA, Hundred Islands Taekwondo Club, and Mother Goose Taekwondo Club. He also coached the Dagupan City Team, the Regional PRISAA Team, and the Region I delegation to the Palarong Pambansa.
He now serves as a coach, trainer, and instructor at Lee’s Martial Arts Academy in Cary, Illinois.
His achievements are the result of years of disciplined training, consistency, and commitment to excellence.
From Barangay Poblacion Oeste to the United States, Soriano continues to carry the Dagupeño spirit wherever he goes while inspiring the next generation of athletes through his accomplishments.
Mayor Belen T. Fernandez congratulated Soriano, describing his accomplishments as a source of pride for Dagupan City.
“Congratulations, Kenneth! Your achievements bring great pride to Dagupan. Keep inspiring the next generation of Dagupeño athletes,” the local chief executive said.
