DAGUPAN CITY – Four young female Dagupenos won the team championship when they bagged gold medals in the 8th NBA 3X3 championships held at the SM Mall of Asia from August 24 to 26.

Jane De Vera of the University of Luzon (UL), Rosemarie Delos Santos of St. Albert the Great School (SAGS), Regimay Castres of St. John Cathedral School (SJCS) and Fiona Kixsha Camangeg of SAGS displayed their indisputable shooting prowess in besting five other teams in the under 18 category in 3×3 basketball.

This, just after the Balon Dagupan team was also named champion after besting five other teams during the North Luzon Qualifiers of the NBA 3X3 Competition held at Benguet State University from August 11 to 12.

The four girls trained under the auspices of the Dagupan City Sports Commission and were guided by DCSC Commissioner Jack Vidal and Coaches Byron Jake Vidal and Jhef Vitales during the competition.

The NBA 3X3 Philippines 2018 is an elite basketball competition based on FIBA 3×3 rules and format, competed by young basketball enthusiasts of all skill levels from all over the country.

Meanwhile, DCSC Vice Chair Finnela T. Sim credited the athletes’ victory to the unstinting support of Mayor Belen Fernandez to sports development.

“DCSC is very lucky to be part of your team in making things happen for the children of Dagupan,” added Sim. (Verdelle De Vera/CIO)
