City government employees to undergo gender sensitivity training

DAGUPAN CITY – Employees and department heads of the city government will undergo a Gender Sensitivity Training on November 6, 2019 at the City Museum.

During a coordination meeting on October 22, 2019 at the Tourism Center, Dr. Lydwina Bernardo, focal person of the city’s Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS), said that it has already been two years since the city government underwent a training.

“Timely itong training na gaganapin natin dahil mayroon po tayong mga bagong kasamahan sa gobyerno,” Bernardo said.

Representatives from Philippine National Police (PNP), Women’s Desk and non-government organizations (NGOs) are also expected to attend the one-day activity.

Bernardo said that lecturers from the University of the Philippines–Los Baños Gender Center had been invited.

“They will be discussing about Basic Gender and Development (GAD) Concepts, Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression (SOGIE), Violence Against Women Children (VAWC) Case Discussion, GAD Database and Evaluation, Gender Mainstreaming: GAD Planning and Budgeting, and GAD Accomplishment Writing Report,” Bernardo said.

The one-day training is in line with the government’s efforts to sensitize all of its public servants, both officials, and employees, to various gender sensitivity issues. (/DagupanPIO)
