DAGUPAN CITY – Mayor Belen T. Fernandez led the groundbreaking of the proposed P4,255,119.80 million covered court gym at Salapingao Elementary School on October 13.
Fernandez was joined by Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Lourdes D. Servito, Assistant City Engineer Nestor De Vera and Salapingao Punong Barangay Delfin De Guzman during the groundbreaking ceremony.
Salapingao Elementary School is home to 534 pupils from grades one to six.
The mayor assured the pupils that they will no longer hold school programs under the heat of the sun and under the rain once the covered court is up.
She, likewise, encouraged the pupils to study well and pray unceasingly for guidance and to respect their parents and teachers as well.
“I wish all the pupils studying in this school to succeed in life. Just never stop dreaming. Hindi masama ang mangarap ng kung anong gusto ninyong maging paglaki niyo,” said Fernandez.
Salapingao Elementary School is the latest among the several public schools in the city which already have their covered courts constructed under the “Your Taxes Makes This Possible” program of Mayor Fernandez.
Servito and De Guzman, thanked the mayor as the covered court is a dream come true for the school. (Joseph C. Bacani/CIO/Oct. 13, 2017)
