A businessman, dentist, and lawyer, Councilor “Alfie” Fernandez is the eldest son of former Mayor Alipio F. Fernandez, Jr. He is an incumbent or past president/major officer of various professional and civic organizations, such as the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, Philippine Dental Association, and Junior Chamber International (Jaycees). As a Jaycee, he is an accredited JCI senator.

On his second term as a city councilor, he chairs the committees on laws, ordinances and judiciary and on tourism and cultural development.

In private life, “Alfie” holds key positions in their family-owned business concerns, such as HTF Lending Corporation, Inn Asia Hotel, and EDF Home Developers.

He is an active supporter as a frontline practitioner in civic medical-dental missions of various community outreach projects.
